We have used PC-GL since version 3.4 of 1989.When our Goverment introduced a \'VAT like\' GST tax we found the day to day processing using PC-GL was impossible. At the time our Tax office issued a cashbook software (free of charge) called E-Record which handled the day-to-day, totals from it are transferred to PC-GL to produce financial statements.Tax office has recently withdrawn support for E-Record. Opinion. I\'m first time user of ledger & I downloaded it to know how good it is. I used it for one hour, I started loving it. It realy a good one I\'m looking for. MMSood.

I find it difficult to print reports since it is restricted to period of the same year. If I need a report having period one in 2009 and period twelth in 2010, then I cannot generate a report for the whole fiscal year. Maybe there are some ways to do it, and it is all because I am not familiar with the software.Any good idea about this issue?Another point. I set up my chart of accounts and attempted to enter my opening balances by journal entry but could not complete a journal entry. When I entered the first item which was a debit to cash I was unable to move to the offsetting credit. What was I doing wrong? Is there a problem with the program. Right now I am at a standstill.

I downloaded Ledger 2010.0 just a few days ago.So far, things have worked pretty smoothly. Inputted my beginning balances and inputted my financials for January 2010. Everything balanced and I found it very easy to set up my accounts and enter data, print reports, etc. I am using this package for my home financials more or less as a hobby. Have not figured out how to delete my beginning Journal entries as well as my January journal entries, other than one at a time. There has to be a better way.Very good package! BStewart 04/15/2010

The software was successfully downloaded, but I haven't had a chance to test it yet. I will post more comments when I do use it, hopefully that will be within the next month.Thank you.
